Parent and Child emotional Health Sessions
Our parent and child emotional health sessions are a bonding way to explore emotions and help you to begin the conversation around mental health early, in a proactive way.

We have a series of five sessions for you both to enjoy.

Week 1 - Emotions/Anger
Week 2 - Anxiety
Week 3 - Coping Strategies
Week 4 - Self-esteem
Week 5 - Gratitude

Each session is fun, interactive and follows the same structure. Available both locally (Derby) and online.

Please see our Events and Webinar pages for dates or do get in touch with any questions.
Understanding Emotions & Boosting self-esteem
This 4-week programme explores thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe and small group environment. Developed by our Senior Mental Health Lead to help introduce children to emotional well-being, in both a proactive way and as a form of early intervention.
Please see our EVENTS page for next dates available or contact us with any questions.

Please note: we are currently adapting this to also be delivered online.
1:1 support
Our Community Mental Health Practitioners are able to deliver early intervention by utilising their individual skills with Emotional Literacy strategies and resources to help a child understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
After an assessment with our Senior Mental Health Lead we will allocate the member of our team who will best meet the needs of your child. This support is unique to each child and we can work with children who are waiting to be seen by other services, or children who have been discharged - we can't work with a child who is currently under another service.
Please call us on 01332 869417 or email Nikki Webster for further information.

Emotional Health Workshops
Our popular Emotional Health Workshops are a firm favourite with us as all, as well as children and parents.
We deliver an interactive 3 hour session exploring emotions and the concept of emotional health in a fun and creative way. Children attend with a parent carer which creates opportunity to bond and talk about different emotions.

These are fun filled with lots of crafts and exploration.

For more information on these workshops see our testimonials and gallery. Please visit our Eventbrite page and subscribe to our mailing list to be kept up to date with dates available.

Facebook Groups
We have 3 Facebook groups for young people split over 3 age categories, these are designed for parents and carers to sit and access the content with their child (with the exception of children aged 13+). Regular video content is uploaded talking about all aspects of mental health, always delivered in an age appropriate way.

Groups are divided into ages:
4-7 years old
7-11 years old
12 -18 years old

This is a valuable resource with fantastic Bridge the Gap content to help nurture Emotional Literacy and health in children and young people.

Fun With Feelings - 6 Week emotional literacy programme
Emotional Literacy underpins everything that we do and our 6 week programme has been designed to explore all of the primary emotions using crafts, video, music, story, discussion and free play style activities. It's an hour for a child to engage in Emotional Literacy - whatever stage they are at.
This can also be run as an after-school provision, if you are interested in making 'Fun with Feelings' available at your school, get in touch to find out how.
Delivered by qualified child care professionals with additional training in mentoring and emotional literacy.

Letters of Support
We want children to form a connection with Bridge the Gap so that, should they require our support in a more reactive way, we have already begun forming a positive relationship with them. We want Bridge the Gap to be a constant in children's lives so that they can continue to access our sessions in a proactive way. Just like keeping fit physically, we need to keep emotionally fit as well.

All of our letters are handwritten by our team and posted out as soon as is physically possible - if we have a wait longer than 2 weeks, we will endeavor to let you know.

Whatever your child is going through right now, we will be there to offer words of support and encouragement.

Please get in touch with any questions or send your form in now.
